NCAD Work
A sample of works from my studio practice at The National College of Art and Design, Dublin, 2021 - 2022.
I have focused on applications of the background and worked with the constructing medium of drawing as a way to explore ideas and build a strong base for making more art in the future. I have worked with themes like: the figure, geometry and the grid, fleeting moments, body lanuage, empathy and identity, and ways of seeing. Books and references that shaped my research include Vitamin P, Vitamin D, and John Berger’s Ways of Seeing. Artists who influenced my work are Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Chantal Joffe, John Currin, and Euan Uglow.

In my practice, I often use photography, sketching, perspective, drawing, charcoal, painting, glazing, working with scale, and creating in series. I’m keen to study more about figurative and realist art, both old and new, the human figure, and ideas about voyeurism.
